WDL launches the re-designed King of Cotton website

At the end of last year, high-quality linen suppliers King of Cotton approached WDL to re-design their website, which had not been radically changed since 2003. Prior to this we’d been working with King of Cotton on various development projects, tweaks and changes, which included successful Digital Marketing work.

What they wanted (and needed) was a fresher, more modern design; a design which would echo the quality of their products. They specifically wanted clean and clear navigation, without presenting too much content through the homepage, and they didn’t want to confuse users and clutter the site.

The design of the site involves a crisp, clean colour palette to capture the essence of the luxury linen and cotton products offered by the site. This allowed our designer to create a fresher, lighter, ‘classier’ edge to the site, where small elements of colour were used sparingly, while retaining an upmarket style to showcase the products. Teamed with a blend of classic and modern typefaces, to compliment the products of the site without compromising on legibility, the overall effect is more attractive to the user.

In addition to the redesign and build, WDL added new functionality to the site, which included, a ‘track my order’ feature, a gift voucher request form, a corporate login area and the option to add bespoke embroidery to products.

We’re really pleased with the outcome and delighted to receive such high praise from King of Cotton themselves.

King of Cotton Sales Director, Horacio Raggio, said: “Since joining forces with Website Design Limited (WDL), King of Cotton website sales are up 30% on last year.
“I believe the key to this success is down to the speed, attention to detail, and efficiency with which WDL implement our ideas – coupled with a combination of their great integrated services; including consultancy, clever web development, well thought out digital marketing strategies and fantastic design. I would definitely recommend WDL.”
