Many of the sites that we build use some sort of CMS. We use a variety of different systems and the choice we make is based on the requirements of the customer. More often than not, the CMS that we used is free and open source meaning that you just pay for our expertise and not the software.
Using a CMS often allows rapid deployment of additional functionality, as many have a large selection of plugins for things like forums, ecommerce, blogs and a whole lot more.
By the way, our website and blog are both built on open source software.
