It’s time to take control of how your business is displayed on Google. Established in 2014, it makes it simpler to manage your company’s information across Google search, maps and Google+.

Once your company profile is loaded with information, try searching for yourself on Google Maps. Look at all the extra detail you’ve gained! Customers can now call you directly from the app, see photos of your great products and make sure you’re open before they jump in the car. This information is particularly valuable for small shops and restaurants, provided you’ve set the right categories, customers can find your business with searches like “cafe” or “italian restaurant”.
Word of mouth is becoming increasingly important as a source of customers and applies to both B2B and B2C businesses. Having feedback and testimonials from customers displayed alongside your company information is a valuable and powerful tool, managing these through Google Reviews lets you manage and respond to this feedback, good or bad.
Surprisingly enough, it’s not only the glowing reviews that can leave a positive impression on your business. Even a negative review, if handled correctly with great customer service, can paint your business in a very positive light.
As part of My Business, you gain access to Google Insights. This shows how often your business information was seen across a number of Google services including search, image search and maps. The stats don’t end there however, it extends to show how many times users sought driving directions to your business and the amount of calls that originated from listings.
With Google My Business there really is nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain! It only takes a few minutes to set up and can provide some potential invaluable exposure for your business. If you haven’t already, stop delaying! Now’s the time to get on your business on Google.
