Front-end WordPress Developer

We are seeking a Front-end WordPress Developer to work in their growing Colchester-based team.

You are a skilled and experienced developer with a passion for all things digital. You are confident and articulate, and able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team serving a diverse range of clients. You are professional, and understand that hard work gets results. You have ambition and drive, and want to produce fantastic work that you are proud of. You have a fanatical eye for detail, and demand the highest quality from yourself and your colleagues, whilst understanding the constraints of time and budget.

From your first day, you will be working on live internal and client projects based predominantly on WordPress. You will build bespoke WordPress themes based on supplied designs. You will maintain, troubleshoot and fix existing websites and applications, interpreting and working with code built by other web developers. You write maintainable and secure code and are able to rigorously test code that your peers have written.

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in HTML, CSS and JS
  • Expertise in bespoke WordPress theme development
  • Expertise in WordPress administration
  • Expertise with source control (Git)
  • Strong understanding of WooCommerce (incl. theme development)
  • Strong understanding of UX and best practices
  • Strong understanding of PHP
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Confident in presenting to clients

Nice To Have:

  • Experience in working with Sketch
  • Understanding of front-end frameworks (vue.js, React)
  • Experience in working with payment gateways
  • Experience in working with domains, DNS, hosting, email
