Everything else

And the nominees are…

I can’t believe it, it’s just so unexpected, I want to thank my parents, my agent, and my fans.

Last year we decided to up our game and enter our company into several digital awards.

Shouting about our work isn’t something we usually do, which seems odd considering we’re a digital agency. We’re usually more focused on helping our clients on a day-to-day basis. But as we receive such positive praise from our clients, 2022 was the year we decided to start shouting about all the amazing work our team does. At the end of the day we all like to be recognised and it was our opportunity to put faith in all the good work we do.

Tonight’s categories

Once we knew we wanted to enter ourselves into a few business awards, the next step was deciding which ones! This wasn’t going to be an easy task, so we put together a small team to help our plan of attack. We researched numerous awards, categories and subjects to find what was truly right for our business. Rather than just entering the larger more glitzy events. We chose events that related to our areas of expertise and the actual work we produce for our clients day in and day out. It wasn’t about boosting our own egos, ok maybe a little bit, we all love a shiny award.

The awards we entered aligned with our company goals as they targeted beautiful design and development work, well-thought-out digital marketing campaigns and excellence for businesses in our local area.

The first award we entered was the highly regarded awwwards (view our entry). Celebrating ‘the talent and effort of the best designers, developers and agencies in the world. In our industry, these awards are well known and we often use their website as inspiration for our projects. So to put ourselves forward for them was pretty daunting, but we took the leap of faith nonetheless.

With this in mind, we decided to enter the project for our client, IGMA Imaging (view the case study) due to its unique style and the fact the site was very image-focused; showcasing the beautiful custom interiors Igma has produced for some of the world’s leading brands.

Once submitted the design is initially reviewed to make sure it meets the required grade, with the majority of entries falling short. Your site is then meticulously reviewed by a global jury of some of the best designers and developers out there. If you make the grade you are then awarded the prestigious digital awards of ‘Site of Day’ or the even rarer ‘Site of the Month’. This time we didn’t win but to be nominated and even have our site featured on the awwwards website is a massive achievement and one we are extremely proud of, so please check it out here (view our entry).

Local awards

The next award we entered was a little closer to home with our entry to the Digital Award category at the Essex Business Awards.

This award was perfect for us as a business as it acknowledged a company’s digital presence and creative design, especially as we had just launched our new branding and website; a timely entry indeed.

For our entry, we submitted all the work we had done for our new website which consisted of our new logo and brand, our new website and copywriting along with our supporting digital media. We wanted to shout about our new site and get it in front of business owners in the Essex area. We are proud of our new website which represents us much better as a business, showcasing all the great work we have done for clients and we felt it deserved to be recognised.

Once our entry was submitted, there was a 2 week judging period.
Once this process had been completed we would then be notified if our application was successful. Cue the tense music. We then received an email confirming that we were one of 3 finalists in the digital award category. To say we were pleased was an understatement. It helped cement all the good work we have done with our new website. Being recognised as a finalist for the whole of Essex is something the team is immensely proud of.

The next step was to crack out the old tuxedos buried at the bottom of the wardrobe. Being finalists has its perks as we were invited to a black tie awards evening, held at the grand Braxted Park house. This evening was to celebrate all the finalist’s achievements, along with a very nice champagne reception and a 3-course dinner. The perfect way to celebrate everyone’s achievements at the end of a fruitful year.

Searching for awards

The final category we decided to enter, was to champion the results of our digital marketing work. We entered the established UK Search Awards which celebrate the expertise, and achievements of the search industry and are regarded as the best celebration of SEO, PPC and content marketing work across the country. We knew getting nominated for these awards would be a big challenge, as they are so well known and receive campaign entries for agencies producing work for the likes of Google, Facebook and Britsh Airways to name a few.

So we decided to enter the PPC campaign work we have done with our long-established client, iChauffeur who we created a campaign for to attract international travellers to use their executive chauffeur services. We had great success with this campaign, increasing bookings from international travellers and helping the business expand its audience. With these great results along with the continued website improvements, we decided this would be a great entry into the Best Use Of Search category, in the Travel/Leisure PPC category.

For these awards we had to prepare an in-depth application, answering questions, providing imagery and results specific to our award category. Once submitted our application went through a rigorous two-step judging process, by a panel of industry experts.

We knew our entry was a long shot, especially against the calibre of entrants, but the chance of being recognised by the UK Search Awards would highlight the hard work our marketing team puts in for our clients.

To round off a successful year we received notification that we were finalists for the UK Search Awards 2022. Which was a great way to cap off all the effort we have put in throughout the year.

It has been great to see all our hard work and effort be recognised, and . reinforces the quality of work we can produce for our clients. So, if you’re interested in doing some amazing work with us, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.

We are already planning our awards entries for 2023. Here’s to another year of amazing work for amazing clients!
